Infograms

Infographics for Instagram. You've all seen them. In 2020 I got involved in the culture and made a whole bunch of them. The problem with instagram is that the algorithm will never allow progressive messages to be seen by conservative users, so for my graphics I tried to target the progressives that were on my side, imparting messages that were either unrepresented or counter to popular movements.

How to Talk to your Ignorant Family About Racism

This is the first infogram I made. While scrolling my feed, I saw plenty of graphics describing the existing problems and what needs to be said, but I saw nothing about how to express those ideas to the people who need to hear them most.

This particular post went a bit viral, with the original post getting over 80k likes, 1k comments, and countless shares. It was also reposted by shityoushouldcareabout, which got over 100k likes. So that was cool.

You Are Tired and you Don't Know Why

The second infogram was about activism burnout.

Pronouns in Bio

There was a period where people became impassioned about putting your pronouns in your instagram bio. If you didn't do it, you weren't an ally. However, there were some major problems with this argument, namely that it would force closeted people to come out or be labeled the enemy. Nobody was talking about this angle, so I created a slightly subversive infogram to spread that point of view.
